Unfit

I just had a confrontation with one of our educators in
our public school system. These people are suppose to
be molders of our kids, but how can they , when they
themselves need molding.
They are responsible for educating our children, and
some do not care enough to get in touch with the
parents to relate what is going on with your child.
I tried to ask this"person" about my child and she
got an attitude. They some times have no people
skills. they need to be retrained every year.
We as parents need to keep a close watch on what is
going on in our childs classroom.
Do not get me wrong, not all teachers are bad, some
are exceptional, but some take the job just for the
paycheck, not as a vocation. I will not give up on
the education system though.

Say no evil

It has come to my attention, that kids of today have
a lot more idle time on there hands than kids of old.
They also feel they have more freedom of speech,
especially to their parents.
Back then you were very cautious about what you say to your
parents. Kids now, they open their mouth, and *%#@ falls out,
and they try to convince you that you have no concept of what
is going on with them. It takes alot of restraint on our part
to keep from loosing it.
But I will persevere .

Simple pleasures

I guess because valentine's day is coming up
I have been thinking about some of the most
romantic moments and places I have been in, and
one particular time and place came to mind, it makes
me smile. Years ago when I was in Jamaica, my friends
and I use to have annual bus trips to other parts of the
island. on one of these occasions me and my guy
(now my husband) found ourselves in a club/bar all by our
lonesome, except for the bartender, the right music was playing
and it was like we were the only ones in love.
I am sure everyone has a story they can relate to.
Simple things, gives simple pleasure :)

Catching up

Its been a while, but I am still here
I spent the last month trying to catch up
with friends and family. But of course I
had to take time out to watch the inauguration
of my president, it was wonderful. I am sorry I
could not make it there, it was just too much
people(4 million).
A new era has begun.

Looking back and looking forward

2008 is now done,
2009 has just begun.
Lets see what it will bring,
As we try to ring it in.

2008 had historic events,
As we elected a black president.
Fire burns in the Californian suburbs,
As million dollar houses turn into embers.

I gave birth to a baby girl,
who now shares my world.
My son is in junior high school,
he now thinks he rules :)

Found people that was lost for years (12yrs),
and like good friends, they still cares.
Spent time with my grandmother, who was born in 1916,
unlike most people, she is still very keen.

Fighting over land in the far east,
that kind of war will never cease.
Land that belongs to GOD,
they will never be satisfied with what they've had.

They cannot take it with them,
yet, they kill family and friend.
Years of ancient war,
what has it gotten then so far?

With this been the first day of the new year,
lets press on with joy and cheer.
Lets take long strides,
that will give us a glorious ride.

Lets ring in the NEW YEAR with bells on,
I hope this will be a momentous one.
The year 2009 is a blank slate,
lets do our best, to make it great.

HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Thinking of others

Today being Christmas eve, lets spend sometime remembering the
ones who are less fortunate than us , and who cannot be with
family this holiday season . Our guys in the millitary, on the holidays
they would love nothing more than to be home. Lets keep them in
our prayers. As we do our last mad rush to the stores try to be
tolerable today(you are going to need to) lines will be ridiculous.
Of course I will be one of those in line,I am a last minute shopper.
Appreciate being with your family this holiday.

Have a joyous Christmas and God Bless.
